I'm a loser. Seriously, I lose things. I was just telling someone the other day that if my head wasn't attached I would lose it. While I was talking to that gentleman I was searching for the cap for a can of oil.

The wind is howling, rain is crashing against the window. It's the second straight day of rain. I don't know how the people that live in Seattle deal with the constant rain. Actually when I briefly lives in south eastern Alaska it was like this and I was depressed. I don't do dark and rainy very well, guess that's why I moved to Florida!
I've been trying to watch what I eat, as you know I'm dieting. Today was a bad day, I ate almost everything in sight. Last night though I had the great meal you see above. It was acorn squash that I cut and de seeded then rubbed it in olive oil and that lawry's 17 seasoning. Then I baked it at 400 degrees on convection for about fifteen minutes. Then I flipped them and added some grated Parmesan cheese. While I roasted the squash I also roasted shish kebob vegetables that we got from Fresh Market. I coated them with Newman's Own Sesame Ginger dressing. Makes for a delicious and wonderful meal!

So now that I have a puppy, whom I love very much. I know, I know I promised that I wouldn't be one of those people whose pet was all over their blog and talked about them constantly. I spend so much time with her, almost every waking moment with her when I'm not at work or out to dinner, grocery shopping etc. As a matter of fact she just walked into the room and started sniffing around.

In the past few weeks I've spent almost every other waking minute I'm not at work either reading about food or listening to audio-books on my Iphone. Specifically I've become interested in our food supply and how unhealthy it really is thanks to big business. After making a delicious Risotto at work this afternoon, tough to do when you can't use salt and you have no stock or wine in house, I walked out of the door at work to a beautiful 70 plus degree day. It was refreshing to be leaving work at five o'clock and know that the sun would be out for at least another hour or so. I was exhausted, wanted to sit out on the porch, play with the pooch and do not much of anything.

Twitter has become this amazing thing for me. Mainly because it puts me in contact with people that I've admired for a long time, they include Ruth Reichl and other's. Some people have found me and they will follow what I'm doing. Which I find incredible. Why would anyone want to follow what I'm doing throughout the day?

You all remember last year when I got the Amazon Kindle for Christmas? I was so excited. Well today I was floating around in my Twitterific App on my Iphone and I came across a tweet by someone that I'm following discussing the Kindle for Iphone App that came out earlier today. I was psyched because I hadn't even heard that such a thing was coming out. I downloaded it to my phone and transferred a book that I was reading to my iphone. I can now read books where ever I am and don't even have to have my Kindle because I can read on the phone. How great is that. So if I'm waiting for a meeting to happen and want to read a couple of pages, or if I'm outside waiting for Zoe to go the bathroom, or waiting for a pot of water to boil, I can read. I love to read actually I am reading two books currently.

Ok so I wasn't even going to write a blog this morning but I couldn't not comment on something that I just read. Perez Hilton posted this review on his website of the opening of a Britney Spears concert that he went to last night in New Orleans. Now, I know you'll find this shocking, but I'm not a huge Britney fan. I don't even own one of her albums. But I read his review and it was pretty good, except when you got down to this paragraph.

Ok so I'm way behind in chatting with you all about Top Chef. Do I think the right person won? Better question, do you think the right person won? Well it's no secret that I would have preferred Carla to win. Did she deserve to win, probably not. Was she the best chef, probably not. She has something that none of the rest of them have, an endearing personality. The only other one that had any sort of charm, or was at least fun to watch was Fabio. With that name how could you not be charming and a little pompous to go with it.
